Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice and Eco Warriors at Perran-ar-Worthal.

At Perran-ar-Worthal, children engage in Pupil Voice lessons as a part of our Fab Friday programme.
These sessions engage children in relevant, informative, inspiring debates where children respect each other's opinions and ideas and then collaborate to invoke change. At Perran-ar-Worthal we want children to believe and know that they can create positive change not only school-wide but for their local environment and to help, wherever possible to improve the the lives of people in the local community.

Pupil Voice helps children to understand their role in both shaping the future and in the importance of their own personal decision making.

These sessions help children see how they can have a positive influence on our wider world.

Lessons encourage children to share opinions, ideas and research the area of learning. Children debate and discuss topical issues. The main areas of learning are linked to protecting nature on land and in the ocean,  sustainable development, awareness of local environmental issues and how to take effective and appropriate action and making a difference through fundraising for local charities. Pupil voice has been effective in increasing the visibility of PE throughout the school and by using pupil's opinions to create their learning journey in PE.
