“Outstanding PE and school sport at Perran-ar-worthal Primary School will instil a love of being physically active and will empower our students to lead healthy lives.”
We believe in providing an engaging, fun and progressive PE program which aims to ensure that all pupils develop the fundamental skills necessary to succeed in sport and general physical activity. Our PE program enables our students to experience a variety of traditional and non-traditional sports. We believe it is essential to ensure children develop physical literacy in combination with
understanding the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
We value the contribution of staff, pupils and parents in creating an ethos of healthy lifestyles, physical activity and sport. Our school recognises that a high quality PE curriculum can give pupils a lifelong love of different sports, a commitment to being physically active, confidence in a variety of physical skills and the establishment of strong values, attributes and sportspersonship.
We are actively inclusive, helping all children to achieve their potential by challenging children in a safe environment. Physical Education at Perran-ar-Worthal provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness.
Our mission is to frequently evaluate our PE programme to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our students and providing quality, fun PE lessons. We are consistently striving towards improving the delivery of the teaching and learning of PE in order to promote participation, progress and performance. Our school recognises the impact that the provision of an engaging PE curriculum has on the whole school and that it can lead to whole school improvements.
Our PE delivery creates pathways for children to be active beyond school, including links to outside agencies and clubs, which generates positive interaction within the community and challenges our students to showcase their skills whilst representing our school.
