START AND END OF THE SCHOOL DAY
Children from EYFS to Yr6 should start to arrive at school at 8.35am to ensure they are in their classroom in time for a prompt 8.45am morning registration. All pupils need to enter through their classroom door which will be unlocked by the class teacher at 8.35am and locked promptly at 8.45am. If a child arrives after 8.45am, they must report to the office where the parent will need to fill in a late arrival form giving reasons for their child's late attendance. Please note that late arrivals are monitored closely. The school will seek to support families to address regular lateness.
All pupils from EYFS to Yr6 end the day at 3.15pm. To ensure all pupils are handed over to their parents safely at the end of the school day, we ask parents to wait by the external door of their child's classroom where their child can then be handed over to them by their class teacher.
Your child is entitled to a minimum of 32.5hrs of school access each day. Making sure your child arrives in time for their 8.45am registration is vital to ensure they do not miss out on any part of their education.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF PARENTS
It is the parents' responsibility to ensure their child arrives at school on time and picked up promptly at the end of the school day. Parents must contact the school office on 01872 863004 if they are not able to get to school on time due to unforeseen circumstances. Please also inform the school office if you need to change arrangements for which adult will be picking up your child at the end of the school day so that staff are aware of these changes when they are handing over children.
If your child is not able to attend school i.e. due to illness or unplanned circumstances, parents must contact the school office by phone, email or dojo by 9am on the day of the child's absence and give a reason for why they will not be able to attend school on that day. Where a child's attendance falls below 95%, this will be monitored closely. If there is a concern regarding regular absences, the school will offer the family support to help improve their child's attendance and, where necessary, involve the Educational Welfare Officer to support the family further.
We strongly discourage term time holidays as this can affect a child's learning, progress and friendships. Term time holidays cannot be authorised. We encourage parents to read our School Attendance Policy for more information.
As our children get older, some pupils, who live in the village, are given permission by their parents to walk home. It is vital that the school office is informed, by the parent, if their child is walking home or being picked up by another family. Any changes to the usual after school arrangements must be communicated to the school office on the day.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
If your child has been signed up for an after school club, their name will be on a register held by the member of staff running the club. A copy of this register is also held in the school office. Please inform the school on the day if, for some reason, your child will not be able to attend their ususal club one evening, so that our staff know not to expect your child at that particular session.
WRAPAROUND
The school runs a before and after school Wrapround Care 5 days a week during term time only. Pupils can arrive from 7.45am and can be collected up to 6pm. All sessions are run by members of our school staff who are familier to the children. You can find more information about our Wraparound Care by clicking on this LINK.
